Warranty Policy

Wipaire, Inc, of South St. Paul, Minnesota expressly warrants each new:

Wipaire Inc. warrants the floats manufactured by it to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 12 months after delivery to the original retail purchaser or first user. Wipaire Inc. obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at its option, any part or parts which, within the applicable 12 month period as set forth above, shall be returned by the owner to any location designated by Wipaire Inc. as an approved facility which upon examination shall disclose to Wipaire Inc. satisfaction to be defective. A new warranty period is not established for replacements used during these repairs. Replacements are warranted for the remainder of the applicable twelve month original warranty period.

This warranty does not cover the following:

  • Floats which have been subject to misuse, negligence, accident or which have been repaired or altered outside of Wipaire Inc.  factory in any way so as in the judgment of Wipaire to affect adversely their performance, stability, or reliability.
  • Normal maintenance services such as cleaning, control rigging, brake and other mechanical adjustments and maintenance inspections or the replacement of service items such as light bulbs, brake linings, filters, hoses and tires made in connection with such services or items required as maintenance.
  • Normal deterioration of appearance items such as paint, non skid top covering and rubber like items due to wear and exposure. See specific Wipaire Inc. product paint warranty in section “b”.
  • Corrosion associated with operation in or near salt water or corrosive environments.
  • Equipment or service parts sold separately which have been improperly installed or are an unapproved installation.
  • OEM items that are components of Wipline floats carry the items manufacturer’s warranty and are expressly excluded from Wipaire Inc.  limited warranty.  Wipaire will provide warranty administration for these components but is not liable for warranty coverage.
  • Normal system wear items or operational wear items.

Wipaire Inc. endeavors to select and use high quality polyurethanes paints from leading manufacturers. Polyurethane paints are used because of their high gloss characteristics and ability to withstand dramatic temperature and pressure changes. The paint on your floats will maintain its high gloss characteristics for an extended period of time provided it is cared for properly.

The paint exterior surfaces require an initial curing period which may be as long as 90 days after the finish is applied. During this period, some precautions should be taken to avoid damaging the finish or interfering with curing process. The finish should be cleaned only by washing with clean water and mild soap, followed by a water rinse and dry with a cloth or chamois. Do not use polish or wax, which would exclude air from the surface, during this 90 day cure period. Once the finish has cured completely, it may be waxed with a good automotive wax, but power buffing should be avoided to prevent damage to the painted surface.

Normal paint maintenance will include touch-up of abrasion and wear of paint on steps, water rudders, bottoms and sides from docking or beaching aircraft. Floats that are seaplane floats will be required to have approved paint process designed for long periods of water submersion. Paint failure will not be covered by warranty unless approved paint is applied for this application.

Paint warranty applies only to defects in material and workmanship for a 12 Months. Paint deterioration due to normal wear, exposure, or improper care is not covered by the warranty. If proper paint maintenance procedures have been followed and paint peeling, blistering or cracking is evident in areas other than immediate wear area surfaces, warranty consideration may be requested thorough an authorized  Wipaire representative.

Generally speaking, warranty repair of paint is confined to a limited area. Workmanship or material defects can usually be identified to localized surface areas that were improperly prepared prior to paint application, or to areas where the paint or subsurface primer has been improperly applied.

Labor associated with troubleshooting, evaluation, removal, installation, or balancing of parts is not covered under this warranty
