In 2005 this 182 was extensively modified to a high performing amphib with a new IO-550 engine install, Wipline 3000 amphibs, detailed airframe inspection by Wipaire, custom paint, interior, new glass with many upgrades. Wipaire has maintained the aircraft the past 10 years and owned the aircraft for the approximately 3 years. The latest upgrades have been the transition from a 3 point strut to a 4 point strut configuration, this allows for a forward envelope expansion allowing you to fly with another person in the copilot seat and full fuel and still be within the envelope. The modifications on this 182 are highly engineered and include the large rudder for crosswind operations, Wipaire’s beefed up heavy duty engine mount, a ventral fin unlike any other 182 amphib conversions! The fuselage beef ups have been inspired by the Boss 182 program to increase the gross weight to 3370 lbs, showing an impressive 869 lbs useful load. The IO-550 is ported and polished by Ly-Con and dyno test out a 330HP! Don’t be afraid of the high airframe time, used in early life for patrol, the large amount of hours have been accounted for with the original 470 engine and long durations of flight minimizing the takeoff and landing cycles.  The panel has been upgraded to a Garmin 530 Nav/Com/GPS, Mode S KT 73 Transponder, Garmin 340 Audio Panel w/ 4 place intercom and music input, STEC 60 auto pilot with electric trim and VS selector. Fresh annual sign off by Wipaire!
